2003

Fun Run - Bury St Edmunds

Spring 2003 saw the welcome return to our regular Fun Runs with a 40 mile ride out to Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club on Sunday 25th May.

The starting point as usual was Washbrook Service Station on the old A12 near Ipswich, where the good weather attracted a sizeable crowd....estimated to be approximately 600 machines.

Setting off - Spring Fun Run 2003

12Tth Copdock Motorcycle Show

The Show was once again held at the Suffolk Showground, Felixstowe Road, Ipswich on Sunday 5th October.

All the usual attractions were once again present. Ken Fox's fantastic Wall Of Death stunt show along with the amazing Extreme Trials Display Team who provided ongoing entertainment with spectacular displays throughout the Show day. There were the usual large autojumble and trade areas, and ofcause the large, undercover bike show.

A Quiz formed part of the Show program...to find out the answers who won click here!

This year tickets were available at a reduced price in advance, this proved to be a popular option for many attendees.

Due to a lot of hard work in the planning stages, this year saw a great improvement in entrance procedures and none of 2002's traffic jams! The only disappointment was down to the weather, for although we had a beautiful, bright (if very cold) day, surrounding counties had extremely heavy rain which obviously discouraged some folk from leaving the warm, comfort of their homes!

Many, many thanks go out to all our willing volunteers and all those thousands of you who once again turned out to support our Show....

As usual the profits from the Show are donated to local Charities and causes. This year the following organisations/individuals will benefit from your support of our event...

EACH (East Anglian Children's Hospices)

CLIC (Challenging Cancer and Leukaemia in Childhood)

SARS (Suffolk Accident Rescue Service)

Ipswich PIT-PAT (Pituatory Support Group)

Cycling for the Disabled

Somersham School

Mark Easton (to complete the replacement of his stolen/burnt out Nippi Trike)

Ipswich Blind Society

TA (Territoral Army)

Are you or do you know the individual with the Japanese Streetfigher who won a trophy at the 2003 Show? We would like to get in touch with him as he left the Show before we were able to present his trophy to him, we would like to re-unite him with his well earned prize! If you can help us, please let us know....
